Heh - well, it's working now, and I just decided to splurge and got a paid account, and we'll see if I can work it enough not to have thrown my money away.
Welcome to another day, Nim! Gonna try and be cheerful. Yankees won last nite, so I don't have to try too hard... at least, not for a while!
Sorry, luv! I feel your pain. But... I am a NY Yankees fan, born and bred... multi-generational. Will you smack me if I mention that Baltisnore losing to the Yankees made me feel good?
I am not exactly a poor winner, poor sport kinda gal... just totally head over heels in love with the Yankees since I was 5 - and watched Mantle and Maris play, albeit at the end of their careers.
Watched the love fest that had Lou Piniella (same BD as me) and Reggie Jackson and Lucky Bucky Dent... and of course, here I am in the heart of Boston lovers country! **shivers**
Nowadays, I watch my cutie Derek, and don't know if I want to take him home to make mad, passionate smoochies, or feed the boy. I'm getting too old. heh - perhaps I can do both?
Do not feel good about my poor boys losing! They try. The average age on the team is like 12!
Seriously, I have a healthy respect for the Yanks, even if I don't lurve them much! But it is time you got a new stadium! I was there in 2001 for what should have been Cal's last game, and man is that poorly set up!
Hey! Ya gotta love the Stadium. It's... it's... TRADITIONAL. Well, hopefully eventually we'll get a more modern stadium - rather necessary when bits and pieces of it are dropping off and in danger of hitting fans.
Poor little Orioles. One day they'll grow up. It's that whole big circle tbingie - Yanks rule, Yanks **shudder* lose... but eventually, they rule again. Really hoping for good things this year. Got sooo used to winning that losing is more painful.
Then again, Orioles must know something about the losing part.
But pity Boston and the White Sox more - **snorts** Especially Boston. Watched "The Curse of the Bambino" on HBO a while back, and it was nothing more than a whine-fest as to why Boston can't beat the Yankees for shit. I think I never laughed more in my entire lifetime for that same hour.
I give you this much - the Orioles are earnest... and they rocked us for a bit this year. How's that?
Pain

I am a HUGE MLB fan, but, alas, the downtrodden Orioles. Former arch enemies of the Yankees:)
Go Yankees!
